From the supplier: Department of Labor and IRS regulations governing dealings between employee benefit plans and related parties set forth what type of transactions are prohibited, who is restricted, when exemptions apply and what the penalties are. Transactions at issue include sale of property and loans. Fiduciaries, owners, employers, family members and others are subject to the regulations. Payments for services are exempt, as may be loans made under the terms of the plan, but all of the exemptions are not available to all persons.
